Tropical Depression 21W




Tropical Disturbance 92W is now coded 21W (upgraded by PGTW). The system has moved to 16N 143E. Descending QUIKSCAT pass showed a closed low level circulation centre with winds abotu 15 kt near the centre. Winds are stronger in the northeastern quadrants (20-25 kt). Convective activities continue to increase over the past 6 hours. A region of newly developed deep convection is affecting the Marianas. Good outflow may support further development. Vertical wind shear is weak to moderate. A Tropical Depression may form within the next 12 hours or so.
