SYPNOSIS:

At 4:00 p.m. today, the center of Tropical Storm "HUANING" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 290 km North Northwest of Basco, Batanes or over Southern Taiwan (23.0°N 120.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gustiness of up to 80 kpn. It is forecast to move west northwest at 22 kph. Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 900 km East of Northern Mindanao (9.0°N, 135.0°E).

FORECAST:

Extreme Northern Luzon will experience rains and occasional gusty winds and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over the western section of Luzon and Visayas which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas with moderate to rough seas. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate blowing from the southwest to west with slight to moderate seas except during thunderstorms.
