SYPNOSIS:

At 4:00 p.m. today, the center of Tropical Depression "HUANING" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 280 km East Southeast of Basco, Batanes (20.0°N 125.0°E) with maximum winds of 55 kph. It is forecast to move northwest at 22 kph. Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 580 km West of Mindoro (13.0°N 115.0°E).

FORECAST:

Batanes including Babuyan and Calayan group of islands will experience rains and gusty winds and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over the western section of Southern Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon with moderate to rough seas. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate blowing from the southwest with slight to moderate seas except during thunderstorms.
